her daughter, Genesis

I'm a big fan of Viola Davis, but she talks about times especially on the documentary "dark girls" about being chased and beaten by white boys in her neighborhood back when she was growing up and how she had to learn how to embrace her beautiful dark skin. So I'm wondering why she and her husband chose to adopt a light skin mixed girl instead of a pretty dark skinned girl or boy. I know in the adoption agency the little mixed half white and half black girls are or just light skinned girls are the first to be adopted and then the light skinned or biracial boys, then the dark skinned girls, and dark skinned boys. My aunt and uncle adopted three mixed boys. They're my cousins and we grew up together so I love them dearly, but sometimes I wonder why they chose to adopt all mixed boys instead of dark skin black boys waiting to be adopted or the dark skinned girls with them being all into afro centric heritage back in the 80's.

Because the stigma of being dark has not gone in their m8nds.

They embrace being darker for the cameras but not in their heart. It's a brand for Viola now being darker skinned and finally being recognized for skills.

Some of the world is tired of the lighter skinned non acting stars always on the stage. She can act but should truly embrace her dark color and just out in public but in her heart and soul. I know her being from SC that that is going to be a feat.

Tip for Tareji and viola they should rein back the overacting.

Yeah I agree. She needs to have dark children, considering all her past complaints about colorism. Where is the self love? By having that light child, it does speak volumes about her being colorstruck.
