His role in WWZ

Was probably my favorite part. I thought he was great, and Im actually not a fan of his so I was surprised!

This guy has a tendency to steal anything he is in... I'm baffled why he doesn't get bigger roles.

Same situation in Flight last year too. And he was great in Fassbender's Shame.

Badge was offered a larger role in Flight but on reading the script, he asked for the chance to play 'the gaunt man' instead.

What larger role would he have been suited for in Flight? None come to mind

Yeah, I have no idea what other role he was intended for.

There’s this great moment in the script where Denzel ends up in the hospital after a plane crash and a cancer patient talks to him about luck versus fate, God, being present in your life and taking things for granted. I was immediately attracted to this role, but they told me I wasn’t right for it. I told them I would read for the role they originally wanted me for if they give me a shot at the cancer patient role and they agreed. Robert Zemeckis is directing it and we shared long conversations about this part. He knows I have a long history of cancer in my family. I’ve watched people pass around me, including my own mother. It’s an important role to me because there are personal things that I wanted to work out for myself. Ultimately, Robert said the role is mine if I lose the weight, so here I am fifteen pounds lighter! I’m so miserable right now.

But the stairwell scene brought Badge lots of attention - and it is Zemeckis' favourite scene http://carpetbagger.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/11/30/robert-zemeckiss-favo rite-flight-moment-its-not-what-you-think/?_php=true&_type=blogs&a mp;a mp;_r=0

For being such a small role, it was about the most memorable scene in the entire movie.
