Is he going to do anything else big after Lost?
I would love to see this guy's career take off after Lost. Being typecast is never a good thing, and television seals that deal.

shareI was thinking the same thing. He's by far my favorite character on Lost, but I don't know how much work he'd get after this, he's pretty much going to always be Desmond. Just like Hurley, or Jason Alexander as George.
shareI really really pray you are wrong and that he has good representation that will get him work. He is by far my favorite part of Lost.
shareLast I heard, nothing in the hopper, but keep you eyes and ears open...you'll most definitely see Ian again!!
He's hugely talented and has an incredible range...he can do non-Desmond very easily:

I would think that Desmond is not where near the same as George Costanza. George was all over the place in magazines, commericials, pop culture, etc. Desmond Hume was a minor character on lost. He never was one of the faces of the show. In factg unless you seriously watched Lost you would not instantly recognize his face. He's not George Costanza, Greg Brady, Gilligan, Herman munster, Beaver Cleaver, etc. Ian should be fine. Basically it is up to Ian and his agent to get him acting jobs. So far from Lost major characters only Jin has made a career for himself......and other minor character actors like Julie Bowen.
shareI seriously hope he makes a good career. I loved him on 'Lost'. He's in my TOP 3 characters along with Terry O'Quinn (Locke) and Jorge Garcia (Hurley).
Perhaps getting a steady starring role in some new hit TV show would be good for him. Something much different than 'Lost', of course.
