The whole Amber Tamblyn thing...

It makes perfect sense. Amber has obvious daddy-issues and has chosen a man who looks eerily similar to her dad.

She's never seen her dad when he was young?! e.g In The Young Guns, Tom Thumb, West Side Story?!!

Uh no, I'm talking about how her dad looks NOW.

Maybe I'm just imagining out of my own fear of aging (I am the same age as Amber), but my attitude about older men marrying younger women has changed as I have gotten older. As a kid I hated Richard Gere for being married to a (then) young Cindy Crawford, but now I admire him for the same reason. I admire David Cross even more now, and I always found him hilarious.

I used to find him hilarious. Now I find him sometimes hilarious and often pompous (and sometimes hypocritical), but I hear what you're saying; I do admire him for grabbing a gorgeous young woman. Who the hell doesn't admire him for that?!

But take the case of Richard Gere. The dude is a stud. Women love him, so it's not a surprise that if Cindy Crawford was going to go after an older man, it would be someone like him. David Cross? Not exactly considered the object-of-female-desire type...

That is very true. Either she's looking past his looks and to his humor/personality or he's alot richer than her (which I suspect)or the daddy issues thing has truth to it, or a combination of some or all of these.
