Betty Megerlin Crawford (Johnny's Mother)

Just wondering why Johnny's mother, Betty Megerlin, doesn't have a page on IMDb, since she was "a former bit actress at Warner Brothers". Usually even the shortest of careers get some sort of page here. Instead, I notice that her name is rarely ever mentioned anywhere in the public arena. Anyone have a clue here? I know she did some uncredited parts, including a role with one of the creators of "The Rifleman". Would love to know a little about her and whatever acting career she had.

Well, I got an answer to this very question by "The McCain Ranch" Site Administrator:

Johnny's mother passed away of breast cancer on September 10, 1971.

I received this email from Nance Crawford, Johnny & Bobby's sister. She also talks about you the fans..... (January 2014)

Hi -

Just playing around on the site and saw the questions about Mom. Here's an answer, if you want to repost it.

Born "Female" Megerlin (it took a couple of days for them to settle on Elizabeth Ann) in NYC on Dec. 10, 1917.

Child prodigy on the piano. Contract player at Warner Bros., 1939 - ?40.

Married by Norman Vincent Peale to Robert Crawford in NYC, July 9, 1943.

Passed away of breast cancer on September 10, 1971.

FYI, I do want to let you know how much I appreciate all of the Crawford fans. The love and loyalty, over the years, is very, very gratifying to us all.

Best -
