Why do so many people complain that Craig is too short?

Since when is 5'10" short? Its an inch taller than the average man. May be its just because all of the other actors who played Bond were over six feet. Please give me your opinions on this.

It's people's own insecurity. Truth is Daniel Craig looks more fit to be a secret agent than all previous Bonds, he could probably take them all in a fight at the same time.

Besides, it's a movie. They made 5'9 Tom Hardy look a foot taller than he is as Bane and he pulled it off just fine. People always complain about stupid crap that doesn't matter.

It's the two-inch rule and it applies to everyone from DMV listed height, to actors, to athletes. Most people are listed as two inches taller than they actually are. So going by that, I think he's probably really 5'8. Not that it's short, but quite shorter than everyone else who's played Bond.
Also yeah films make people appear taller. Many people who've met actors always say that they are shocked to stand next to them and find out that they are significantly shorter than what they had thought when they'd seen them in the movies.

Daniel Craig is not 5'8. His two female co-stars from Skyfall, Berenice Marlohe and Naomie Harris, are 5'8. He looks taller than both of them in the movie. In pictures he is about the same height as them when they're wearing heels.

then again you missed the point that every body adds 2 inch to their listed heights even the female actors too

It's a little naive to assume that everyone in Hollywood misrepresents their height. There are plenty of actors and actresses who really are every bit as tall as they themselves claim to be. I can see the logic behind shorter actors claiming to be taller, but actresses do not usually do this. It might be true that Robert de Niro is probably closer to 5'7 than 5'10 (which he reported as his height many years ago). That being said, Berenice Marlohe looks a solid 5'8 to me, not just in the movie but from premieres as well. Of course almost all actresses wear heels at events which heavily distorts the height comparisons. But even with her wearing heels, Craig does not look shorter than her, leading me to believe that if she is 5'8, he must be at least 5'10, no less.
