For me ...He is the "BOND"!!!

I am a big fan of the series and watched all the movies. To rate the bonds, Craig comes on top followed by Sean Connery. Pierce Brosnan is a good bond but the scripts killed him. Criag brought an edge to the character which reviewed the series and the franchise! Hope he agrees to do one more...

Craig is a great Bond but Sean Connery is James Bond. Period

I agree, he's my favorite too. I think Connery is overrated in the role.

I liked Connery better than Roger Moore. But to me Craig is Bond. Quite honestly when I watch any of the other movies they seem very cheesy and corny compared to Craig's Bond movies.

Timothy Dalton is my favorite, but Craig made the best bond movie "Casino Royalle"

reply

Agreed. Craig finally showed a realistic true to life Bond, a man of character and emotion.

IMO, Craig and Connery come out about even. If I had to choose at all, I'd give Craig the slight edge.

2nd tier Bonds for me would be Timothy Dalton and Pierce Brosnan. I think most Bonds realize that after Goldeneye, Bronsnan was hamstrung with increasingly bad scripts. Since then he's done a number of good Bond-like roles... maybe as a way to say FU to the Bond producers?

I'm not sure why Lazenby gets so much love. I've watched OHMSS and it was fine, but nothing extraordinary.

Moore would be the worst Bond for me. Most of his Bond consisted of a double-entendre with a arched eyebrow. I never had the impression he could handle himself in a real fight. (Did we ever see him bloodied up?). Plus he played the role for about two movies too long... at the end he was noticeably too old with the Grecian-formula thinning hair and sagging face.

What's weird is that work like The Saint and The Wild Geese proved that Moore was capable of grittier roles. He just seemed to prefer playing Bond as some sort of international playboy.
