Cornish performance was Oscar worthy- problem was the film was an Australian film. And also it was on a small budget- so audiences internationally probably won't get a chance to see it. Also the film was not recognized internationally unlike films such as Chopper and Pricilla Queen of the Desert. So Cornish performance was largely ignored from international critics and lost in the little fanfare the movie received.
