The real creative brains behind the original Star Trek

So much of what we know and take for granted of Star Trek came from the pen of Gene L. Coon as writer and showrunner, but unfortunately that has generally been overshadowed by Roddenberry's self-promotion on the convention circuit in the 70s and into following decades, in which he presented himself as some kind of visionary cult figure. Let's give credit where credit is due.
