House Conservatives Call for Full Review of DOJ Handling of Clinton Email Probe

Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) announced on Fox News Channel’s “Fox & Friends” Friday that he and his colleagues (presumably from the House Conservative Caucus) are calling for "a full review by the Judiciary Committee of the processes and procedures that potentially gave Hillary Clinton a different process and a different standard of justice than would be applied to any other American.”

Gaetz said that the evidence now shows that the FBI gave the Clinton email probe “special status.”

In a recently released Oct. 23, 2016, email, FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe wrote to press officials in the FBI that the probe was under the control of a small team of people at the FBI’s headquarters in Washington.

“We now have evidence that the FBI’s investigation of Hillary Clinton did not follow normal and standard procedures,” Gaetz said. “The current deputy director of the FBI, Andrew McCabe, sent emails just weeks before the presidential election saying that the Hillary Clinton investigation would be special — that it would be handled by a small team at headquarters, that it would be given special status.”
