Was she recast in Rings/The Ring 2?

Actually she was to reprise her role as "Samara", in Ring tWO. There are a couple of reasons why Daveigh didn't. The first is because DreamWorks had 1 director attached, then another, and finally, Hideo Nakata, who Directed 2 of the Japanese original "Ringu" movies. Nakata envisioned Samara somewhat different than Daveigh playing her. He wanted someone that looked more like "Sadako"-ish (Sadako in Ringu). Taller, longer arms, etc. So they went with Kelly Stables, who was Daveigh's stand in and double for "The Ring".
The second reason, I won't say. But the scene in Ring tWO, where Rachelle drowns aiden in the bathtub, and Samara rises out of him, that is actually Daveigh for all of 3 or for seconds. It was taken from footage shot in the first Ring, and composited in the shot.
