Steve Carell in The Office, the funniest character in TV history EVER

Nobody touches the greatness of this guy.
Its simply incredible how consistently hilarious he was in The Office, every scene during his entire reign was complete gold.
I'm trying to think of a character in any of the all-time great sitcoms, none of them hold up to Carell's Michael Scott.
And I'm a HUGE Seinfeld fan, seen every episode at least 5 times each, and I see nobody in that show as great as Carell's performance in The Office.
Great Scott!

Totally agree. I seriously have trouble watching after he left. I think he's probably the funniest TV character I've ever seen.

reply

I think the funniest of all time is reserved for Carol OConnor of All in the Family but yeah, hard to think of others funnier than Carell on The Office.

reply

He was great in the office and redoing the show for the USA, well I have to admit they got it right but you have to give it to Gervais for the original office.

Bold statement. There's been some unbelievable talent on TV throughout history. But, Steve's Michael Scott certainly ranks among the best.

reply

I bet you don't even watch television produced in any other country.

reply

Ever? No. Homer Simpson easily tops him.

reply

How about IASIP's Dennis Reynolds? Not mainstream enough I guess.

Bryan Cranston's potrayal of Hal from Malcolm in the Middle was easily funnier. You can definitely make a case for top five though.
