Is she even a good actress?

Hi!

I do not want to pick up a quarrell with her fans here, I really don't.

The fact is that I have seen just little of Ms. Bledel's filmography. I thought that she did a pretty good job in "Sin City", albeit her small role. I watched "Post Grad." and, I don't know, maybe it was the bad movie or the bad directing, but I simply disliked her there.

I've randomly seen some episodes of "Gilmore Girls" and I still have issue with her way of acting (how she delivers her lines, mainly, but also her childish voice). I feel like she is not good at it at all, but then again maybe this just depends on the fact that I do not like the series. It is way too dialogical for my taste.

Would you recommend a film in which she is at her best?

Thanks in advance for your precious help.

She is only good at playing those bashful type characters. She isn't that good when trying to act outside her typecast role.

Alexis is gorgeous but honestly she is not really a good actress

I think she's getting better. She spent so much time on Gilmore Girls and in movie roles which basically wanted her to play a variation of her character on GG that she appears very limited. I think she could benefit from working with a voice coach to teach her to project better but I think she's very serious about improving. She's been doing theatre and independent films with interesting characters that stretch her.

My favorite performance was her part on ER's finale. She nailed that role! Overrall I'd say she's an OK actress.

I agree with this assessment. The very first time I turned on the Gilmore Girls, I didn't know anything about the show other than that it was getting a lot of attention at the time. The show had already started, and there was a young girl in a school uniform talking, and I thought, man, that girl is a bad actress. And it was Alexis as Rory, as it turned out. I eventually decided that her line delivery had something to do with the show's rapid-pace dialogue.

The only other thing I've seen her in is season 5 of Mad Men, where she played a severely depressed (to the point of having electroshock treatments) suburban housewife. I think she is very beautiful, there's something really fragile about her, but she was not very good in that role; there didn't seem to be any depth to her characterization; as someone else said, just flat and monotone. A better actress would have really done something with that part.

I hope she does grow as an actress and continue to get roles because she seems lovely.

Maybe the delivery issues have something to do with Spanish being her first language. Nevertheless, I think Alexis is an ok actress- not particularly great, but not terrible either. I believe that the has the capacity for growth.

When I saw her in Gilmore Girls I thought she was pretty ok. She was awkward but so was the entire cast so I thought the script requires a sense of nervousness.
But then I realized by seeing all her other roles, that there's no more to her and that's what makes her a bad actress. Actors need range. Even a small one. She has none! It's all bad!
