Since this isn't a fan board, and since negative opinions are just as on-topic on IMDb as positive ones, it is not trolling to express a negative opinion. Don't like it? Tough. Well, but what basis do you have for saying that? Not challenging you -- I actually have no opinion having never met the guy -- just wondering what you base your opinion on.
And for what it's worth, I don't think it's really unfair to read your tone as "angry" in your original post.

shareI just wanted to come back here to note that I met Dirk at a convention this past weekend. He's an absolutely lovely guy -- gracious, friendly, and genuine. And quite modest, actually.

I met him several years ago and he was so gracious to all of his fans I saw him interact with. The worst thing I can say about him (and it's actually kinda funny) is that he LOVES to talk. I couldn't even snap a picture where his lips weren't moving :). But that just shows he loved talking to his fans. I've seen many actors who were just at conventions for the cash, not the fans. Btw, Richard Hatch and Herb Jefferson from Battlestar Galactica are very nice too.
