I don't know but when I saw the rerun with him in it, I hated him.

During the first few minutes I thought it was weird not being Dirk but as I got further into the episode I thought he was acting very face-like and I think he played it well.

I thought he played Face well, but I couldn't get over how tall he was. Dwight looked so tiny next to him!

When you're used to Murdock being the tallest, it throws you for a loop every time you watch the pilot.

Also he really was too young. I don't know why they cast him in the first place.

He seems even younger since according to his birth certificate in the pilot, Templeton Peck is ten years older than Dirk! Of course, he's a con man, so he probably stole Peck's identity. But still, you can't believe he was born in 1935. The series can't seem to make up its mind about Peck's background. First he did 3 yrs college before Nam, then he's an all-city HS football champ in 1968. Anyway...

I actually think that Tim was a far more convincing scam artist than Dirk, and even though he didn't have the chemistry with Dwight that Dirk had, I kind of like his read on their relationship. He's humoring Murdock and indulging him. Dirk's Face was enabling him and encouraging him. It's an interesting difference.

Well there was a A-Team two hour movie before the series was launched. Actually I think the movie was made to see if people would like it and it was more of a test the waters thing more than anything else. Tim Dunigan was cast as Face for the movie, before the series, before anything else. Now when the movie did well and then I think some time had passed before they decided to go ahead and make the A-Team a tv series, I guess that Dunigan was unable to commit to a tv series or that the producers decided to cut him and use someone else in the role. I'm not exactly sure what happened and what the decision was and why it was made. All we can do is speculate, but I was happy when the first episode of the A-Team was show on tv for the first time and I saw Dirk Benedict. I've always liked Dirk and I thought it was the funniest thing that in the opening credits you see a Cylon walk past him and he stops and points his finger as to say "Hey that's famialiar!"
