...quite boring. I just watched 'This Is The End'. The film was an absolute delight. This guy?... Not so much. There was something off about him. He was surrounded by a whole lot of powerhouses and was meant to carry the film as the sort of lead role. He didn't. Not by a long shot. He was the only thing wrong with an otherwise quite original film. I haven't quite been able to put my finger on what was so wrong with his performance, though. I imagine it will come to me within a few days of thought. Can anyone else help me put this into perspective? Why was he such a standout bore?

I think that he was playing just the way his character should come off. I didn't feel like we were supposed to like him, but he was the most normal of all the characters.

He was playing his character who was not supposed to be that likable and a kill joy.

How can you say a movie is a delight but find one of the two main character 'quite boring'? It's like saying 'oh man I loved Terminator but I found Arnold quite boring'.

He was playing his character who was not supposed to be that likable and a kill joy.
So it didn't require any effort on his part.

I agree that he drug this movie down. He acted poorly, I didn't buy his character or his connections and his reactions to certain things didn't even make sense in context.
