Serious Career malfunction

This guy was the hottest thing going then his career took a nose dive and he was reduced to playing a supporting role in a *beep* Adam sander film and an even smaller role opposite marky mark wahlberg, someone who has no talent compared to Bana, strange how caters can change for someone so talented

I think The Hulk hurt his career as a leading man prospect for whatever reason even though he was pretty good in it and the film was fine (I think it gets hated on way too much).

I think he needed some fun roles to grow his fan base. A lot of his roles were too heavy and not popcorny enough to have big box office returns. Now it just seems that he's just another actor. He does have a few sizable roles in his queue that could resurge his career.

He seems stuck in supporting role hell in Hollywood these days, which is unfortunate. Munich is his best movie and if more people had seen how good he was in it he'd be getting more starring roles. I suppose the only starring roles he'll ever get now would be in independent films, since he's kind of past his sell date in Hollywood.

Munich was great and Bana handed in a fine performance, but for me 'Deadfall' was his best Hollywood performance. However neither of these touch the picture which got him noticed, his performance as the eponymous "Chopper" was a virtuoso piece of character acting, for which he gained 30 pounds. He deserves to find more such meaty roles but is continually stuck into the comic book & TV show films which is all Hollywood seems interested in lately & for the foreseeable future. Star Trek & the Hulk have gained him notice and awards, but his most recent outing as a narcissistic journalist alongside the excellent Ricky Gervais in the clever but strangely overlooked comedy "Special Correspondents" was a refreshing return to his comedic roots. It is to be hoped that the pair team up again in future, as there certainly seemed to be an intriguing chemistry between the two.
