casting for Tomorrow When The War Began Series??

Anyone here who loves the series Tomorrow When The War Began by John Marsden?
There's a website dedicated to the series called www.tomorrow-movies.com and there's a online petition to help and support director Esben Storm into making the series a film. Currently there are 1003 signatures (goal was 1000) and there is forum if you want to join and discuss who should play which part.
I came across on another forum and someone suggested that Gillian Alexy be up for the role of Ellie if the film ever gets made.
