I wouldn't have objected if Amy was nominated for "Arrival", she did a good job, but I do agree it wasn't her best role, she's been far better in other films. She did the best with what the role gave her. I personally thought that Jessica Chastain's performance in "Ms. Sloane" was more worthy of a nomination, she gave a powerhouse performance, and was easily one of the five best of the year! Emily Blunt was also worthy for "The Girl on the Train", she was terrific throughout the entire film. I knew Meryl Streep was going to take a spot away from someone, and I didn't think she deserved a nomination. She was good, but not great, but when she's in the running, someone's going to be left out because she's an automatic nomination from the academy. Ruth Negga was good, but not better than Chastain, Blunt, or even Adams. Emma Stone is going to win, and Natalie Portman is a solid second, but I thought Chastain should have been up there with them!
