Jensen was amazing in "Road Trip" last night!

From Laura Prudom's (formerly of the Huffington Post) review:

Road Trip” crammed a lot of story (and angst) into one action-packed hour, with the whole enterprise anchored by Jensen Ackles’ powerhouse performance, showing us a barely-restrained Dean who hasn’t been this close to the edge since the Season 2 finale.

But the episode was a real showcase for Ackles, who played Dean’s agonized guilt and desperation in a way that was utterly gut-wrenching, especially in the warehouse scenes where Crowley was attempting to “hack” Gadreel to get to Sam.

I agree with all this! He was really a powerhouse in Road Trip. For me, he's become the truly powerful emotional core of the show that a lot of characters/plots spin around and are anchored by.

Although always great, I've felt he's been really at the top of his game this year (and last year when Purgatory allowed him to shine). IMO he's really matured into a phenomenal actor and he continues to impress me on SPN.

@scarlet - your comments are even more truer now than they were back in January.

Jensen has consistently been great since the beginning, and I think this season he's been amazing.

I can't wait to see what he has in store for us these last three episodes of the season!
