I love his loyalty but he should quit supernatural

I don't know. I love the show but seasons 1-5 mainly. The show has nothing to offer him after being tricked into thinking hed be a demon for more than 2 episodes.
I've heard he's been offered several marvel roles.
He could literally be castes as batman captain America hawk eye. And do a fantastic job.

The show doesn't just offer him story lines, though. Looking at the big picture, it offers him an awesome work environment (that has been described as rather rare in the industry), a steady paycheck (no such guarantee once a movie wraps), a second family (as he's often described the crew of the show), and the 10-year opportunity to develop a character that he enjoys playing (something he's said he could not do with a character in a movie). Plus he's had the opportunity to try his hand at directing, for four episodes.

I think it's more than loyalty that keeps him with the production (though I imagine that's probably part of it). I really think he's gained a great deal from the show, both personally and professionally, that we as an audience don't necessarily see or appreciate.

Now, that being said, I'm kind of hoping they wrap the show up next season so that he can move on to other projects, whether that be movies, another TV show, or (highly unlikely) theater. Though admittedly, I'll miss having him on my TV screen each week when the show does wrap.

I agree with you 100%. I've read he gets about 125,000 per episode and yeah besides money the cast does seem very close.
I just want to see the guy do some other work. He is such a great actor and has so much potential. It bugs me when I hear about him passing on so many roles.
Supernatural is at a low point right now but hopefully it will turn around because I do love the show.

I hope the show lasts for a long time to come

I agree that Jensen has gained a lot from Supernatural, but I do think sometimes he's too loyal. I also think Supernatural hasn't really been that good for a while now. I don't romanticize the first 5 seasons and think they're the best thing ever, those seasons had problems too (and don't get me started on how much I hate Swan Song and thought it was a horrible end to the first 5 seasons).

Which is why I agree with you here:

We know Jensen has had to turn down movie roles, including Marvel, and with SPN's lack of quality (in my opinion), I think it's time for everyone to move on. I had hoped that Season 10 would be the show's last season, but I think everyone seems to want to get to Season 11. I'd love for it to be a shortened season (13 eps), but, considering that SPN is the #2 show on The CW, I'm going to guess it's going to get a full season.

I will miss Jensen bringing Dean to life, but we always have the DVDs. 

Have you heard about Erik kryppe (think that's how you spell it) had a different ending in mind for swan song. The boys both took there vessels and both fell in the cage.
I mean after teasing dean being michaels vessel for how *beep* long they end up bring back there step brother.
That bothered me so much.
Everything lucifer and Michael said to each other would have had so much more meaning if it was sam and dean

reply

As much as I would have loved to see Jensen play Michael, I have a problem with that from a storytelling/thematic perspective. Dean has always been the brother/representative for free will. Sam, the brother/rep for destiny. The way they harped on about how it was Dean's "destiny" to be Michael's vessel, and how he didn't have a choice in the matter, Dean saying "yes" would totally negate what he stood for in the story. Had they not made such a big deal about Dean's "destiny," it might have worked better. (Because, yes, the fact that Jensen got zero chance to play Michael is a crime.)

I also hate the idea of the brothers being rewarded for everything they've been through by spending eternity of damnation being tortured in the Cage.

I also had a huge problem with the epic whine-off that was, apparently, the final showdown between Michael and Lucifer. I hate what they did to Michael's character. Back in "Houses of the Holy," when they started drawing the parallels between Michael and Dean, Michael was described as a powerful warrior of God. Yet he ends up being really whiny, with no other reason for showing up to the fight than "it's my destiny." Not because Lucifer wanted to wipe out God's masterpiece, the human race, and Michael was determined to save humanity. Otoh, Dean, even when he didn't know the specifics of the assignments from John, knew that lives were at stake and needed to be saved. Dean's primary purpose was "saving people;" that's what he knew was of utmost importance.

You need to remember that the plan was for Supernatural to end at season 5. Seeing as how they got to make another season they couldn't have both Sam and Dean say yes and thrown into the cage. That would of ended everything cause everyone else was already dead by that point so they had to change it to make it possible to continue into the next season.
