Hopefully he is not directing as well. Didn't the CW just make a Superman show too and isn't he in Supergirl and in the Snyder JL film? Seems like a bit much or they could have waited longer for the super-reboot.
shareI guess they want to strike while the iron is hot. I hadn't seen the new show yet but I heard it was really good.
shareI haven't seen the new show either. I did watch a review of the first episode and they were surprised that it wasn't bad, but went in with really low expectations so maybe I'll check it out when it goes to Netflix or HBO Max at some point.
I guess I'm a bit tired of it all and I'm certainly not an Abrams fan. I'm glad someone else is writing and he is just producing. It'll be a couple years before a trailer hits so maybe it won't seem so repetitive and dull. They'll most likely cast a black Superman and people will have meltdowns so that may be entertaining.
He just produces now,he never directs. Well i think its probably the best job for him.
shareits a Black Superman reboot

So they're going with Calvin Ellis?
shareGIVE US SOMETHING ORIGINAL!!!!!
Not yelling at you, just tossing it out into the universe with the hope that maybe somewhere, someone will hear it and listen.
*shrugs* I think originality is reserved for television now.
shareGIVE US SOMETHING ORIGINAL!!!!!
black superman...... you happy now?
That's not original. It's still superman.
okay.... what about black batman
or white black panther
remember, this is lib hollywood, it has to be race or gender based
I don't care, black batman is still batman. White black panther makes no sense, but it would still be a black panther story.
I don't give a shit about hollywood's or your race/gender politics. I would like to be able to go see movies that have original characters, and new stories. I don't care what race or gender they are.
ypu don't care.....how about a anal sex scene between Batman and Robin?
shareWell, that would change the movie entirely wouldn't it? I don't really recall seeing any anal in any of the batman movies I've seen so far so I can't say. I don't really recall any sex scenes in any of the batman movies. There has been a lot of innuendo, and implied sex, but that's it. So if they kept with the innuendo it could be interesting. But....
It is not original and is still just Batman and Robin.
but will it be trans??
shareKeep him away from everything. He ruined Star Wars.
shareYes he did, and the fact that TFA is considered to be his best film is pathetic
shareUh, no. Star Trek (2009) is considered to be his best film. By far.
shareOk, I’ve heard people say TFA is but whatever. I haven’t seen Star Trek
shareThat first Star Trek is his best film. The Force Awakens isn't that great. The Rise of Skywalker is nonsense...absolutely terrible.
shareGotcha, yeah I wasn't going to see TFA in 2015 but then I heard it was like the greatest movie ever made so I went ahead and saw it. 5 minutes in I realized it was just going to be A New Hope all over again but then I realized that they sucked all of the fun, excitement, interesting characters and compelling story elements out of it. For the longest time I could not figure out why people loved that movie so much but now it seems the vast majority of people who fanboyed in their pants over it are waking up and realizing that it's a bad movie.
The Big Bang Theory needs to apologize for the episode where the guys go see TFA and are awe struck by it, there's nothing good about it.
There was no fun banter between the old or the new characters. The entire mystique of the original movies was shaved away and what we were given was a hollow shell of a movie. I've been a fan from a young age in the 70's and have felt that TFA and TROS were made for the younger viewers and not for the original fans of the movie. My hears sank as I watched these movies.
shareMe too, it started off bad but at least it didn’t crap all over the ot, then TLJ came and they absolutely raped the character of Luke skywalker, then in TROS as if that wasn’t enough they had to rip the victory out of the hands of Anakin and give it to MaRey Sue, something no one wanted to see.
A scene that doesn’t get the hate that it should is in TFA the scene where Han and Leia are talking about Kylo, wow that was some bad exposition, I felt like they were breaking the fourth wall
Yeah, I agree. Poorly written and thought out. They had no idea what they were doing with the third movie especially. Absolute garbage.
shareOh it was total garbage, and it was so obvious they were just making it up as they go. Abrams also knows nothing about how to set up a twist, the best plot twists ever are the ones you don’t see coming yet TFA was basically baiting and saying “there is a twist coming” yet they hadn’t planned it out and what they threw together at the last moment was such a disappointment. His whole mystery box concept is poor writing especially when there’s nothing in the mystery box.
I honestly don’t know where they go from here, people showed up to episodes 7, 8, and 9 just because they wanted to see what happened to the OT characters but now that they are all dead there is nothing interesting about Star Wars any more. I guess they should just stick with the Mandalorian
"He ruined Star Wars."
You Lucas loyalists are so fucking weird.
Weird? Without Lucas and his original vision there would be no Star Wars. The new movies were a blatant cast grab. There was so much wonder watching these movies as a kid and the only wonder as I watched the new movies was wondering if I could get my money back.
share"The new movies were a blatant cast grab."
The prequels, countless books, comics, action figures, and cartoons definitely aren't that. Shit, there's TWO Clone Wars cartoons.
I rest my case, your honor.
No sense arguing. I will never convince you that the originals are the only Star Wars movies that are relevant.
shareThe prequels aren't the originals. They are trash and a cash crab. First Lucas released the "Special Editions" as a test. Then he made that shit-ass prequel trilogy, all while releasing multiple "Special" editions; all while refusing to let fans see the original unedited trilogy. This was after he was selling merch and signed his stamp of approval while allowing people to write comics and books. Your argument is extremely disingenuous.
shareI don't remember ever mentioning the prequels. You did.
shareYou said Abrams "ruined Star Wars" and his moves are "a cash crab", which means you obviously didn't have a problem with the prequels - which are AT BEST divisive - and you blatantly ignored the fact the franchise has been selling merch for DECADES. Your argument is shit.
shareDo you know how to read? I mentioned the original movies, never said anything about the prequels. Are you that dense? Bye troll.
shareNO , no more reboots I’m sick of it. If the reboot fails where do they go from there? Reboot the franchise again?
shareI wonder why these people reboot in the first place. Is it because they want to tell a whole story over several movies in a certain way that makes the most money, and the moment a movie flops, it's reboot time? This certainly happened to Spider-Man, rebooted twice and basically told three different ways: the Sam Raimi trilogy, those awful Amazing movies and the MCU version.
Because there are some reboots that were successful but you are taking a huge risk with a reboot because you are essentially saying that you are going to tell the story better than it was told the first time which really heightens expectations
shareOh for pete sakes! Come ON, DC, another superhero please! Stop with the endless Super-people and Bat-persons.
I’m dying for a Sandman movie that is faithful to the ambience of the comic.
Well they're actually making a Blue Beetle movie, believe it or not. They even got a writer and director for it.
