Confirmed for Superman and Green Lantern films?

I guess it was a toss-up between him and Rian Johnson (who might had been cool for a GLC film).

Finally!
Superman was actually popular once and I think DC and Warner Brothers have mismanaged the character for decades. I don't want to see a rehash of the Richard Donner film but enough with the neck-snapping sad boy with the hairy chest.

Didn't Superman kill Zod and his henchman in Superman 2?

reply

I think it was intended that the fall didn't kill them. He depowered them and then sent them back to the zone. I always wonder why the director left it vague. Best guess is just to keep the pace of the movie up.

I remember when movie news was exciting and not depressing.

Yeah, with a few exceptions, I can't stand his style and direction. This is disappointing, but we'll see how it goes.

I liked Lost and MI:3 was sorta OK. I don't like his Trek stuff. I thought TFA was better than the preqs but still not great.
Honestly, I thought he directed more than he did. Lots of things he produced were in my memory as directed by him (like the Cloverfield line, which I enjoy). I feel done with him at this point. Don't plan on seeing the next Star Wars nor Trek.

I thought Star Trek was alright, but I thought the sequel was pretty bad. I think the only film of his that I really enjoyed was Cloverfield which I thought was excellent.

See, I thought JJ directed that too but he only produced it. Matt Reeves directed it. Crazy how JJ managed to step in front of his directors for credit when so much of what he is known he just produced (he has producer credit for TLJ too).
These are the only movies he actually directed:
MI:3
Star Trek
Super 8
ST Into Darkness
SW TFA

Shocking, no?

His deal with WarnerBros has been finalized today. I suspect he'd do a DC movie or show at some point.
