I think he'd spend his days putting every thought that passed through his head on social media. The resulting mix of intelligent observations, batshittery, deliberate feuds, and frank trolling would tarnish his legacy forever, which would be his intent.
Sort of like Roseanne Barr, but without the bipolar disorder.
If he came to his senses, he would leave Yoko and get therapy.
The left went of the rails after 9/11, I doubt he would follow. Like most old folks he would be fed up with the PC Taliban. He'd getting in trouble for speaking the obvious, like John Cleese. Johnny Rotten is now a conservative, who was banned by the BBC for telling the truth about Jimmy Savile.
He definitely would have tired of living in New York..he'd move back to England and be much happier..he'd slowly adapt to leading a more quiet life and along the way he'd become more happy and friendly. He'd see his ex-bandmates a lot more often and they'd do things together, maybe recording a few songs for charity or maybe knock out a few holiday hits, which would make them millions. I think out of all the Beatles Lennon would have ended up the most grounded and most revered as he took the longest and hardest journey out of all of em'.

The Beatles would have played at Live Aid and performed in the 90’s too, but they would have split again, maybe a few times, never being able to replace Epstein.
I hope he would have reconciled with Julian also.

Had he lived he would have had at least 10 more years of good albums, maybe tours, but by now he'd be long retired. He wouldn't want to tour the rest of his life like Paul and Ringo. Even though I didn't like the film Yesterday, the one interesting moment was showing him in the present.

But what would John be doing today? Probably talking up a storm on social media and/or writing music. I do think he would've stopped touring in the 90s though and maybe just started doing side projects from there on out.
He would have also moved into writing books too or something like that, and commenting on world events on occasion. Although, many people would probably treat him like some kind of god.... haha... and he would be secretly laughing at these people. He'd probably still be with Yoko though, even against the advice of his closest friends.
I think he would have died of lung cancer sometime in the late 80s, eventually still being the First Beetle to bite the dust.

I’m sure the Beatles would have reunited which may have hurt their legacy. He probably would continue to be nominated for a Grammy with every new album like Bob Dylan. I would be interested to see where his spiritual evolution would take him now since he was big into TM, Hare Krishna, LSD, Freemasonry, etc.

He had stopped taking acid in the '60s. I believe all he was into at the time of his death was pot. He felt forced to defend Yoko all those years against everyone who hated her. But he was realizing it was time to move on from her.

Anyways, he made a few decent songs - and yes, he was into numerous protest movements, but I doubt he'd be a big fan of the woke protest movements we got going on now. As people age, they become more conservative (or perhaps the society at large simply becomes a bit more insane over time).
