Happy Birthday

Yes, today is her birthday, she turns 33. She was born on June 10 in 1983, and this year (2016) and that year have the same day/date correspondence--that is, the dates fall on the same day of the week in both years. So she was born on a Friday, and her birthday today is on a Friday as well. It was also on this day in 1983 that the movie Octopussy opened in theaters, as most movies do open on a Friday. That is signifigant for me as Octopussy is my favorite movie of all time. She obviously did not see it on its opening day, but I have wondered if she ever saw it later on home video or television, and if so how she liked it, having this connection to it.

But speaking of movies, I've seen six of hers, all within a four year span from 1998 to 2001 in theaters. They were Deep Impact, Never Been Kissed, Eyes Wide Shut, Here On Earth, Joyride, and The Glass House. And while none of them compare to Octopussy (but what does for me), I really did like some of them, and all of them are at least allright. I have three on DVD at home I brought, and I've rented the other three out from netflix to watch again. And I may watch one tonight for her birthday. But after being so active and in so many things for years in the late nineties and early 2000s she just seemed to virtually disappear for years, which was unfortunate, as I thought she was a good actress and also very beautiful. But I'm hoping she'll start appearing in movies again, and happy 33ed birthday to her today.
