Please just keep him as GL in the Justice League movie..

No need to start another origin movie or try to establish it. People may have hated it, but I liked him as Hal. I actually liked the movie as a piece of entertainment although it's not the best movie. I have seen many worse movies.

Just keep him please.

Yes, I know casting and all that don't read these.

Honestly they could keep him and make a better sequel. Sequel's usually do writer critically and financially in the right hands. He's perfect as Hal he could do better with a better script and would pair well will Henry and Ben.

He definitely has the snarky wit that would lighten up the movie. Plus it couldn't hurt to have his name on the bill too. If all else fails, he could even be a good Flash.

I'd like to have him back but I'm pretty much just expecting them to recast at this point since WB wants everyone to forget the 2011 mistake. RR def could use it but I remember him saying after how poorly the last one was and how much he was insulted that he wasn't interested in coming back.

Sometimes I don't think people realize how big of a flop GL was, it wasn't a disappointment or a slight disappointment, it was a huge bomb that just about nobody liked. It cost 200mil to make and probably 80-100mil to market and it only grossed 219mil worldwide. No way does Warner Brothers want any JL movie to be associated with it in any way and that's exactly what would happen if Reynolds was allowed to play the role again. Nobody cared that Bruce Banner was recast in The Avengers and nobody will care about a recast GL in Justice League.

reply

actually, ppl DID make a fuss when banner was recast... just after avengers screened, everyone changed their minds. that's fandom.

one shouldn't automatically assume this whole justice league thing is gonna sail, either. there are too many variables. not the least of which is snyder has never had a critically acclaimed film to his name. so anyone who is having trouble with their career would probably do better to see how well it does before pushing to be onboard.

GL was the last movie I walked out of. And I'm a huge comic and movie fan both. It was wretched.

But I think Reynolds would help the DC film universe. It's so depressing.

reply

Considering it was a financial bomb, WB will probably try to distance their new GL as much as possible from the Ryan Reynolds version.

It's a shame, because it wasn't his fault it was so terrible.

reply

Reynolds doesn't want to do it, he's said.
