How much will revealing the 'new' girlfriend affect his popularity?

I am curious as to just how fickle fans are really going to be after her offical "unveiling" on the Red Carpet. Also wondering how potentially negative publicity surrounding individual actors actually affects the morale of an ensemble cast. I mean, gossip from the outside has been known to stir up resentment from other cast members? Just wondering.

I like Norman and I like his character Daryl and I honestly couldn't care less about who he is dating and the fact that she is very young. It just doesn't bother me. Maybe me saying that doesn't make me a true fan of him and, yes , I only discovered Norman because he was playing Daryl. So people wouldn't consider me a true fan but I am a fan. Just don't really cares about who he dates.

most fans who follow him on twitter/tumblr/instagram already know that he's been dating her for over a year and are still his fans and he's still popular for other reasons other than who he is dating, so i don't see it chipping away anytime soon. although it will once daryl is written off of twd.

So that means, NR started dating this girl when she was 19? That is even worse.

I used to love the character in S1 and S2 but the past few seasons, not so much due to poor writing. As for the actor, I was curious about him and began reading more about him to see what he was about. He seems like a really messed up individual who quit maturing at 18-20. Example: Licking people's faces constantly, flipping people off, and taking selfies all the time for self promotion. How long can he pull that off? It won't look cute at 65 when he is still hitting the Comic Con circuits.

Also, he only dates young models. I might be more incline to believe that the a relationship was built off of more if he didn't have a habit of only dating people in their 20's who are struggling to get into the modeling industry. Notice, most of the women he has been with in the past few years do not have much of a career and tend to follow him wherever he goes instead of working on their own careers which in modeling is limited. This to me says a lot.

As for his gf, I give her a little more room as she is still a child. I am in my late 20's and trust me 28 seems far attached from 20, people grow quickly in those years. But still, she is not in this solely for innocent purposes. She had posted somewhere that she likes private planes, fancy champagne and other ridiculously shallow items which for a girl of only 19 at the time of the posting says a lot about her. Well, for any woman really unless she is earning it herself. Much of that has been since erased, but it is out there still. Do you really believe if NR didn't have money or fame she would date him? No way!

I'm sure his career will not suffer much because of this for now, but after the show, I don't see him doing much as he is definitely beginning to look his age if not worse and Hollywood is really shallow. Though he is fine as Daryl, from what I have seen of his previous work and some of his emotional scenes in TWD, he is not the most gifted actor which will limit offers in the future as his looks continue to fade.

sometimes there's something about a person, sure she's young but maybe she gets him, i don't know. all i know is he's more than just this immature guy. he does have issues with self esteem and is shy, he's said it numerous times and after meeting him you can just tell. he was abused growing up by his mother's boyfriends and just messed up. i feel bad for him more than anything else, but at the same time he goes out of his way, literally for fans. he's really laid back and extremely nice, sometimes too nice to where he ends up late for something because he doesn't want to seem like an a-hole to his fans. i don't care who he's dating, honestly. but i also do not see him dating for for long. i don't think it's true love~ or whatever, but it's kind of obvious he hates being alone and gets along with people who are younger. it wont last.

It seems there is very little known about his life growing up. I know not every celebrity wants to discuss their childhood (most often it seems that is due to some kind of abuse or neglect issues) but you just never hear him talking about his parents -- at all. I don't read the gossip rags and don't care to discuss anything printed in those types of publications but I do read legitimate interviews with celebrities sometimes and he is one of the few celebrities I have never heard make many comments about his past. Kevin Spacey and Tom Cruise are two others who seem very reticent in discussing their past personal lives and it just makes me curious as to what happened.

I don't fault them for keeping their private lives private. I just find it odd that they chose a profession where they are so much in the public eye that they don't discuss their personal lives at all. It is definitely up to them though as to how much of themselves they let us see.

True, we don't know much and the few things he has said hint of at least some unhappiness. He has only said that his tattoo of "Norman" on his chest is for his father, who he was named for, who was dying while he was filming Floating, or shortly before. We know he left home at an early age too, probably for certain reasons.

Those who have bad childhoods do go into careers that put them in the public eye, but it's a trade off between being asked about their childhoods and getting the adulation and praise they missed out on as a kid.

He does talk about him Mom, (she was a playboy bunny and high school teacher) and seems he is really proud of her. He mentioned his father dying in interviews for SKY, but he never seems to mention his siblings - which is weird but maybe he is just respecting their privacy. He said his Mom was upset with him for revealing she was a playboy bunny. (So he did have some links to the world of showbiz somewhere), but I agree not a lot is known. He lived in Japan with his family for a while as a kid, then later on he left home as was offered a tennis scholarship. He has hinted a past abuse (possibly from a step father). I know all this from one interview I read a year or so back.
