Rocky and Bullwinkle

Long time lurker of IMDB and researching movies etc, like many other.

I just found a copy of The Adventures of Rocky & Bullwinkle and I wanted to post here, since it is most appropriate I guess.

I had grown up with re-runs of Rocky and Bullwinkle, and I absolutely loved going to the restaurant in Edmonton when I was a child. When I moved away from Edmonton and came back to visit, I found a friendship with someone who beat me up when I was in grade school, and he used to work at Bullwinkle's. We used to go there, he'd sweep tokens from underneath one of the machines, and I'd have countless hours to play a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game in the Arcade.

Many hours of fun.

Now that I found this movie again, I watched it, and all the feelings of being bullied in grade school, growing up and returning to find a friendship and forgiving someone in my past, all has brought one aspect of my life full circle again. It helped me remember the things that are important, and the realization that what happens, happens for a reason.

I have been trying to find people from that era of my life, but to no avail, yet I watch this movie and remember the good and the bad, and the end result is who I am today.

I would not change any of it for the world, and I love this movie. It brings everyone back to a time where the world was a much different place, and the thoughts of the tv and movie makers were in a different mind-space than today.

A time when dialog in a movie, and the content and scene depiction of what is happening was more than a nuclear explosion, a sex orgy, or a genocide.

Maybe we were all a little naive, but there is nothing wrong with being a little naive. Just don't let it rule your life. Rocky and Bullwinkle let you become something that you couldn't be on a daily basis, for 15-20 minutes every day. That is why is it special, and why it will always be a treasured staple in my life. I plan on showing it to my future children.
