Another signing

Finally, James Marsden's message board is coming to life. Here's an article I found:

Marsden, Bentley Are "Welcome to Me"
By Garth Franklin Tuesday July 30th 2013 07:56AM

James Marsden, Wes Bentley, Joan Cusack and Alan Tudyk have all joined the cast of the comedy "Welcome to Me" at Gary Sanchez Productions and Bron Studios.

The story follows a self-absorbed woman (Kristen Wiig) who wins the lottery and launches a cable talk show about herself.

Shira Piven directs from a screenplay by Eliot Laurence and Aaron L Gilbert. Will Ferrell, Adam McKay, Marina Grasic and Jessica Elbaum will produce.

Another supporting role... When will this nonsense stop???
I have to sit through 90 mins of movies and wait for him to show up for like 10 seconds?

reply

I don't know what to say, mau; I feel the same way. I wish someone could shake him out of his lethargy.
I think he needs a stimulating woman who would inspire him to great things.
He said in some interview or other that he really doesn't have much choice in the roles he gets.

Well, why the h3ll not???

Who manages his career, anyway?

Someone did get him to change his professional name from Jimmy to James. That is a good thing. In person, I know everyone calls him Jimmy, but James is more dignified and has better stature.

I think that Frank Langella could be a good influence over his ambition. Or someone else who realizes his great talent and could guide him into getting better roles with more gravitas.

We can only hope. He'll be 40 soon. Not a boy anymore. Time to grow up in all respects.

I think thats why I love some of his earlier films where he has major roles. He is so talented in everything he does. Sometimes I wonder if maybe he doesn't see how talented he is and thats what holds him back on taking on bigger roles. I remember reading somewhere that he likes playing the supporting roles. I can't remember what exactly it said and maybe I'm wrong.

He also seems to me like just an easy going, humbled man. I admire that in him because most hollywood actors are self centered and egotistical. I just wish he would have a little more faith in himself but not change who is as a person.

Yes, he did say he likes supporting roles. The funny (or not so funny) thing is that during the interview he had with the people on the Today Show, the clip they showed was practically the longest piece of his role in the thing.
