Was it because of her commitment to 9 to 5: The Musical? (Which is now closing on Sept. 6!) I would have loved to have seen her in Jennifer's Body. Some sites still list her as part of the cast, but IMDb does not.

shareAnother user on the "Jennifer's Body" message board told me that she was cast of Mrs.Dove, with that role now belonging to Cynthia Stevenson. I would have loved to see Janney in it though! Some websites (not IMDb) still list her as part of the cast. Even on Flixter she is listed as a cast member.

That's very strange, because Allison Janney is in the new movie Life During Wartime, and she's replacing Cynthia Stevenson who originally played the same role in the film's prequel, Happiness!

Oh and her commitment to 9 to 5:The Musical was definitely the reason she left the project. I just read that the shoot was delayed because of the writers' strike and when shooting finally began, Janney was already in rehearsals/performing 9 to 5.
