A little bit of 'work' done?

I love Allison Janney as much as - and probably more than - anyone. (I was THRILLED to meet Stockard Channing last year, mostly because then I could say I'd actually touched someone who'd touched Allison Janney!) But I just noticed some recent photos of her here on IMDB (ones from Jan and Feb 2008) and I have to say that she's looking about 10 years younger than she did in the last few episodes of West Wing (I know that she was supposed to look kind of tired out by the end of the last season, but some of it wasn't just makeup and lighting).

What's interesting is that I thought it would bug me to think she'd had work done, because one of the reasons I admire her is that even though when she was younger, someone told her that the only jobs she'd get in acting would be 'lesbians and aliens', but she didn't let that hold her back. But actually, looking at her 'new and improved' look, I find it doesn't bother me - mostly I'm thinking "Hey, if this keeps you getting work, then I'm all for it, because frankly I'd like to see more of you."

And then I think: "Geez, I'd like the number of her dermatologist/surgeon, because she REALLY looks good..."

I guess l'd be hoping she's had no work done.. (l don't think she has) but she is looking splendid these days (even if there has been some added weight). But l do wonder how they got her to look so old and worn out at the end of the west wing, l must admitt she did look kind of shocking.
But either we she is looking faboulous and l cant wait for more movies!

I like how people keep saying actresses over 40 'got some work done' every time they see pics where they look good. Please. Don't compare them to the West Wing (especially the end of the show... the lighting was horrible!), look at pictures from last year for instance. Believe me, if she had had anything 'done' that would be visible... plastic surgery isn't a magic wand... you can see when it happened (uh... Nicole Kidman, anyone?) and Allison just looks good maybe because she is happier in her personal life, maybe she gets more sleep these days... who knows? who cares?

Allison has said she was so busy during the last season of The West Wing to work out as much. I think thats it. As soon as the show was over her arms started to get more shape again, plus TV is bad for close ups in HD for woman of a certain age.

I would think she's had something done, but not to the excess.

Especially since, 6 years ago, she looked 5 years older than she does now.

6 years ago, she looked in her mid 50s, when she was around 45. Now, however, at ~50, she looks more like her actual age.

You all act as if women would have any kind of "light work" done. There's no such thing. Either they get a lift and have no wrinkles left, or botox and have expressionless faces (see Nicole Kidman) or they had nothing. If you look at any recent non photoshopped picture of Allison, she just looks her age. She's beautiful but she's got wrinkles around her eyes and mouth, you know... nothing to write home about, she turned 50.

LOL... if you're as clearly uninformed about it as you are, why bother speaking up at all?

Anyway, about your other comment:

That was a point I made. She looks roughly her age, now. But, a few years ago, in many of her pics, she looked older than she does NOW. Which implies she likely had something done (at least better makeup)

you are right. there is no doubt about it. her recent publicity pics are fantastic.
