or is this guy not so good at doing American accents? I was watching that show Awake and immediately realized he must be a foreigner because his accent was just "off." So, I looked him up on IMDB and I see he's English. Usually you hear English people being praised for doing great American accents, but this guy just can't seem to pull it off.

I mean, that southern accent he tries to put on in Blackhawk Down is absolutely atrocious. Granted, that's a lot harder to pull off than a more "neutral American accent" I suppose, so I guess I can give him a pass there. Either way, I guess he's the exception to the rule about the english being amazing at American accents.

It's definitely just you. I've been watching Jason for years and his accent in awake was so good I half forgot he was British. I had to watch Harry Potter and Peter Pan immediately afterwards to get his natural voice back in my head again because his amazing accent in awake left my brain addled. He does a fantastic job. Jason is like Gary Oldman with accents, he can do anything and does it well.
So yes; it's Just you who thinks he can't do a good American accent.

His Boston accent is spot on in the TV show Brotherhood!!!
