No one goes to prison for 2 weeks

...the idiots in the news media keep saying she's going to prison for 2 weeks.

No, she's going to jail. Either county or city jail.

reply

Her "Prison" time very possibly could be served in a "Jail" and/or in her locality the facility will serve as both.

reply

Yes, that's what I said. She's not going to a prison. No one does for such a short sentence.

reply

Nobody goes to prison for 2 weeks.

They report to the jail, they check in, and a few hours later they're released because they're a non-violent offender and the prison is too overcrowded to accommodate them.

reply

Serious question. Is saying "no one" considered substandard?

reply

I once got into a lengthy debate about "no one" vs "no-one" vs "noone".

I'm not willing to start that again! Particularly as there was no real answer at the end.

reply

Well anyone who uses the "word" "noone" is a moroone.

reply

W3rD!

She won't even serve two weeks. She'll be released early for "good behavior." And for being a celebrity.

And before people pull the "race" card, Jussie deserved a LENGTHY prison term for what he did, but got
nothing. BLACK celebrities get off easy, too.

the juice is still luice too...

She's been sentenced on Federal charges, which means Federal prison, not city or county jail.

It's not impossible that they send her to FPC Alderson, where Martha Stewart was incarcerated.

I suspect they will send her somewhere minimum security (since she's not a serious criminal risk) and but remote enough to be "influential" and punitive. She won't be able to argue family hardship, since her family is wealthy enough that they could literally fly in on a private jet and stay nearby in the best local accommodations.

The bummer for Felicity is the punishment is less about her specifically, than about the broader public signaling that being rich and claiming ignorance about what most people would recognize is illegal or extremely unethical cheating behavior isn't good enough, and you can/will get punished, even if you are rich and famous.

Was this a jail or a prison?

reply

Yes I know I was wrong. I can't be right all the time.

reply

It's a prison. FCI Dublin where Patty Hearst, Sara Jane Moore, and Heidi Fleiss served their time .
