Her bio mentions she auditioned for Buffy,but was "too young"??? She's one year younger than Sarah Michelle Gellar who was 20 when Buffy started,playing a TEENAGE girl. LOL Hollywood can be so incredibly stupid at times.
I'm glad Sarah was chosen,but they could've come up with a better,more logical, reason to reject Katie than saying she was "too young" to play a teenager.
Yeah, that's stupid, but I am glad it was SMG who was chosen, as the part suited her much better than it would have suited Katie.
I'm glad that Sarah was Buffy and Katie was Joey. She probably wouldn't have been able to be on Dawson's Creek had she been on Buffy. I wouldn't have had it any other way.
Actually Sarah Michelle gellar was 18 when she started working on it. And due their birthday differences at the time of auditions, Holmes would have either still been 16 or just turned 17. Making her a minor. Child labor laws are hard to get around while filming a show, especially one that has stunts and fight sequences and training.
