very underrated

Colin really can hold his own and is taking his time coming into his career, I think he is a great actor, disregarding any bloodline or perks he may have had growing up in the business, I think he's going to go far.

I totally agree. I'm very surprised that ORANGE COUNTY
wasn't his breakthrough role, but he's made some interesting
and sometimes good decisions with the Indie work that
he's done. I thought CARELESS was absolutely hilarious
("...they let him keep his finger because they're not
total a-holes" cracks me up) and THE GREAT BUCK HOWARD
was pretty decent. But with RX and MY MOM'S NEW BOYFRIEND
were just damn awful.

For right now, he's in the supporting roles, and whenever
he appears on screen, people will just say, "Oh, it's that
one guy," or most likely "Hey, it's Tom Hanks' son, what's
his name?". But his shining moment will come when he becomes
that charming and charismatic leading man. And that is in
no means any kind of pigeon-holing him to be like his dad.

I agree with both of you.
He seems to be making very wise career choices. I hope to see a lot more of him in the future.

Agreed, pretty low start, but he's definitely climbing and that lead role is not far away. I watched him all the way through Roswell, and just saw him in Untracable with Diane Lane. He's always been one of my faves. Amazing, amazing actor. He just has a great presence and depth to him on his own. He'll make a great performer just like his dad, even if they are very different in acting styles (in my opinion at least).

Yep, he's a v.good actor! Plus he was nice enough to reply to me via his twitter, ace!

I completely support the opinion that he is a good actor. He has been in so few main stream or hit movies that it's absurd for people to be so critical of him. We have yet to see him as a main character. Most of his acting has been television or indie films, several of the movies he was in weren't even good movies. Looking at his filmography I've only heard of like 5 of the movies he was in to begin with.

I think it is way to early to judge him as being a bad actor or to say he is only famous because of the family he comes from. For the longest time I didn't even know he was related to Tom Hanks (mostly because he always has small parts or plays a supporting role so I never took the time to even look up who he was). I just finally saw his last name today and put two and two together. I thought he was a good actor who'd get his break before I even knew that Tom was his father.

Also I was huge fan of Roswell and I have rarely (if ever) heard anyone say that they didn't like his acting or his character. In fact I often hear the opposite, a lot of people who liked the show were disappointed when his character was killed off.

I completely disagree. He is an example of Hollywood nepotism at its worst. His acting is stilted (and I have seen him in a lot of movies and Dexter) and he has no charisma. That is just my opinion so no need to jump down my throat. I was just discussing nepotism the other day and, even though there is a ton of it in Hollywood, he is the absolute worst of them all. I would say about 80% of actors that get roles due to famous relatives do a great job acting. I find nothing appealing about him.

Would I rather be feared or loved? Easy, both. I want people to be afraid of how much they love me.
