If Annie flops will it kill his career?
I personally have no hate towards Jamie Foxx, unlike many people here. I was pretty annoyed at how terribly miscast he was in Amazing Spider-Man 2, which kind of ruined the movie, but to his credit the script wasn't great and he wasn't the only miscast actor (Dane DeHaan as Harry Osbourne). But other than that one mark on his resume I can just look at his talent, racist SNL joke aside.
That said, it doesn't look like Annie will be any kind of success in the box office. Bad pre-release buzz, terrible reviews (21% on RT), Jamie Foxx hatred, plus judging from the trailer it doesn't look like an Annie movie at all (and no this isn't because the actress is black). It doesn't seem to focus primarily on the title but mainly on the rich guy that adopts her, so people might not be able to tell if this is really the Annie update they might expect.
