Selma Blair has been rushed to the hospital after being removed from an international flight Monday.

The actress was taken by stretcher off of her return flight from Cancun, Mexico to Los Angeles after allegedly having an outburst on the flight, an official close to the situation confirms to PEOPLE.

"She was met by paramedics at LAX as soon as her plane arrived," the source says. "It looks like she had taken a combination of prescription medication with alcohol. We don't know what sort of prescription medications."

The source adds that Blair was transported to a local hospital and that her son Arthur Saint, 4, was on the flight.

Witnesses who were also on the flight told TMZ that Blair, 43, was seated in first class, enjoying a glass of wine when she started to cry and talk about fears regarding an unnamed male.

"He burns my private parts. He won't let me eat or drink," she reportedly stated. "He beats me. He's going to kill me."

Afterwards, two nurses who were on the flight reportedly tended to Blair, checking her bags for pills before the pilot called ahead to report that a passenger on board was mixing medication with alcohol, TMZ reports.

A rep for Blair rep did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for comment.

According to her Instagram account, American Crime Story star headed south of the border with Arthur for a beachside Father's Day celebration with her ex Jason Bleick, Arthur's father.

So do you think Jason Bleick is the one tormenting her??

reply

It's OK it was only a reaction to mixing medication with alcohol, which is the common way Hollywood likes to take their meds. I would love to know how much money psychiatrists make off Hollywood and all their emotional baggage.

When people do these crazy things in public, I seriously wonder whether they know they've gone off the rails. I mean, we all get hit by weird notions now and again; I get that part, but I don't get acting upon it and not realizing something is wrong.

That line from Se7en comes to mind.

David Mills: I've been trying to figure something in my head, and maybe you can help me out, yeah? When a person is insane, as you clearly are, do you know that you're insane? Maybe you're just sitting around, reading "Guns and Ammo", masturbating in your own feces, do you just stop and go, "Wow! It is amazing how f---ing crazy I really am!"? Yeah. Do you guys do that?

reply

It's not OK. WTF is wrong with you? /smh

Every person that served can be called a veteran, but not every veteran can be called a Marine.

Twenty years ago, she passed out on a sitcom taping because of "nerves." It's interesting that ACS really gave her career a shot in the arm.

20 yrs ago she passed out during a sitcom taping because she looked directly into the stage lights. It's a common reaction. I know of people who have passed out in the chair at the eye doctor during the flashlight test.

Why is it always the first reaction that 'the guy is naturally evil and he did it' when something like this happens. Why does it seem impossible to you that blair is just a complete nut job and has mental problems?
