The LEGO Batman Movie: Emotional Currents Overwhelmed by Action

“The LEGO Batman Movie” has its predecessor’s same gorgeous computer animation, a good smattering of referential humor, and a great vocal cast, but all of these elements are let down by a story that needed a little retooling so that the emotional foundation wasn’t overwhelmed by its seemingly-endless action sequences.
