What happened to her?

Ten years ago I really thought she would be a major star. She's still young enough to turn things around I suppose but seriously, what went wrong?

There was some interview a while ago with her and she seems to be really happy with her life, she's doing the kind of movies she likes and she's apparently not interested in a "big career".

So its all good, it seems.

People that are happy with themselves don't turn their bodies into the "examples book" of the local tattoo parlor. One or two is expressive rebellion, etc, but once they cover more then a quarter of your body, there's definitely something bitter going on. The need to beautify your body shows a deep disgust for what that person sees in the mirror. She's literally trying to hide the ugliness she sees when she looks at herself.

She can put as much spin on her situation as she wants, but in the end, she's just as big a train wreck as Bombshell McGee.

I wish this weren't the case with her... but, unfortunately, she was off the radar for so long, that all this ink screams "HEY! Look at me!". It's an attempt to shock people into taking her seriously again. Judging by the quality of the roles she's gotten lately, it hasn't worked.

I was already amazed someone is able to emit a sentence like this: "People that are happy with themselves don't turn their bodies into the "examples book" of the local tattoo parlor." Err ... WHAT ??? People get tattoos do so BECAUSE THEY ARE UNHAPPY ???

But now I am completely baffled at the fact that theres ANOTHER person who is even able to agree with such a brilliant example of perfect idiocy.

sour grapes saving face nonsense, it is so easy for these C and D listers to claim they don't want a big career when they can't have one. I'm surprised though at how many fans believe these statements. It reminds me of the guys I knew in college who when they would get rejected by a hot girl they'd say, "I didn't need her, she was a bitch anyway" in an attempt to save face because they were shot down.

People get that many tattoos because they are unhappy. The American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry equates that level of tattooing with picking, burning, cutting, and head banging as a form of self mutilation. The Journal of Psychosomatic Research in 2006 conclusively laid out that excessive tattooing (and body piercing) are associated with dangerous and sometimes lethal risk taking behavior, eating disorders (which she has admitted to in the past) self-loathing, substance abuse, depression and social alienation. Of course their are exceptions to this such as cultural tattoos like those of the Maori tribesmen, but in white bread America, some of the greatest minds in mental health today all side with the conclusion that abundantly tattooed folks like Mena here are more often than not dealing with some serious demons, of which the tattoos are just a very visible symptom.
If that is "idiocy" in your mind, at least it is well educated and researched idiocy.
