No, you're right. The only one in the past few years deserving would have to be War Horse - very moving. But I believe that Tintin, Lincoln and The Book Thief are all extremely ordinary. Not worthy of a nom, but whatever. Because people obsess over what wonderful music he USED TO create, they praise him for still doing something. In a way this is like the world of music in general. Too many bland songs and covers that nobody's making new great music anymore. Williams might as well pull a Horner and rip himself off...
