John Williams the greatest composer of our time?

Last month I watched the London Symphony Orchestra play and most of the music was John Williams, I have to say it was fantastic. Lets bring on 2008 and Indy 4!

Well i have´nt seen all of the movies that he composed(like the Speilberg movies) but those i´ve seen i did not like his soundtracks. Some of them i strongly dislike

John Williams is BY FAR the greatest film composer ever to live!

His Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban score is his most brilliant score, and my favorite movie score.

I do think Williams resues themes less then others (Howard and Zimmer to name a few), but his scores just aren't that entertaining to listen to. I don't mean it has to be like Pirates of the Caribbean, but I like stuff a little more freash, and whenever I here a Williams score, you can just feel that its old.

Aren't entertaining to listen to?

Pirates of the Caribbean is puerile in comparison to the Star Wars Scores.

John Williams to me is definitely the best composer of our time but not ever. I mean John Williams has made some of the most memorable music in movies that will never be forgotten but will he be remembered like Beethoven, Bach, and Mozart? Personally I hope so.

"His ability to translate images and emotions into music is almost preternatural."
Totaly agree with you there.

Hans Zimmer would be the 2nd greatest.
