Bring back the London Symphony Orchestra (petition)!

With the news today that Williams will potentially be returning to score Episode VIII, we as the fans think it important for the maestro to return to the London Symphony Orchestra, responsible for breathing life into his iconic themes of the first six installments. Many felt the score for The Force Awakens was lacking; being performed by a freelance orchestra, it certainly lacks the BAM that Star Wars has inspired generations of moviegoers and even composers for the past four decades. Let's make it happen.

Please, PLEASE, help in the last step to restoring the glory of Star Wars to the big screen! All it takes is one signature!

Thanks!

John Harrison is an illusion. A comforting lie told to protect you.

Not happening.

The Hollywood orchestra's performance was great apart from the main titles anyway so it's not really that big a loss.

Williams doesn't want to travel that far anymore and considering his age, can you really blame him? Besides, The Force Awakens sounded fine.

The Force Awaken's score was lacklustre because JJ was more concerned with spoilers leaking and guiding John Williams vaguely than letting him compose to the scenes.

Force Awaken was a very good score compared to the crap that is out today. The Rogue One score was not that memorable, even though I will give Giacchino a pass. Giving any composer 4 weeks to write a score is hard to do and I commend him for what he was able to accomplish in so little time. But anyways, John Williams can still create amazing scores at his age that most film composers wish they could do.

He's almost 85 years old! He's earned the right to craft his music in whatever environment he finds the most peaceful. So far as I know, he still goes into his office at Amblin Studios every day to write his music.

If travelling overseas has become too exhausting at his age then I respect his decision to record in the US. A new Star Wars score by John Williams recorded in the US is still better than another composer imitating John Williams' style with the LSO.
