Because

1. she still loves being on the show.

2. She's one of the highest paid actresses on TV and is uber rich because of it.

I never heard that she and Meloni were planning to leave at the same time.

Meloni claims he left to pursue other ventures after 12-13 years on SVU. But the word on the street is that there was an issue with his salary. Presumably, Mariska didn’t have the same contract demands that he did, so she stayed.

From what I’ve heard, Meloni and Mariska drew the same salary during the show’s run.

I’m glad she didn’t. Love her, and the show is the ONLY network crime show that I still watch. I will be checking out the new Chris Meloni spin-off though.
