very hit and miss director, but when he's great he delivers.

With Gus his great outweighs his disasters and he has quite a few on his list. But he takes and you got to admire that.

For me his best work, Good Will Hunting, Milk, Drugstore Cowboy, My Own Private Idaho, Elephant and To Die show he's not afraid to mix challenging art house work with more commercial work.

He's done stuff that I think has been underrated. Don't Worry, He Won't get Far on Foot. Restless, Mala Noche, Paranoid Park, Finding Forrester (one of his best for me), Gerry and Promised land.

He's done a lot of crap too, Even Cowgirls get The Blues, The Sea of Trees, Last Days and Psycho.

Yeah, he's had some big misfires, but the good definitely out weighs the bad. I think he peaked with Drugstore Cowboy and My Own Private Idaho.

He's 50/50, but gets higher praise than Soderbergh, who I think is more consistent and even more diverse.
