she was appearing on bob hope's radio show the day pearl harbor was bombed. they were told to stop the show immediately by producers. lana asked "who's pearl harbor?"

No, it was Mia Farrow, in a Woody Allen movie.

The Woody Allen movie was "Radio Days", but the story had been circulating for decades, and that's where Woody got it from. It was also attributed to Joan Crawford. I'll bet that none of them said it.

George Burns and Gracie Allen had visited Hawaii in 1941, it wouldn't be much of a stretch if they had a look at Pearl Harbour.
