Juicy little bit part on NYPD Blue

Just watched Season 3, Episode 17, in which Danny had a jewel of a cameo role. He had just one scene and one line: "You see me?" But the facial expressions were so cool. Anybody know what I'm referring to? (Can't say more -- it would be a spoiler.)
