I thought he died...

Seriously, I thought he was dead for a few years now. Not sure if someone told me he was and I believed them or what... I just thought he was dead. I feel wierd now knowing he's still alive.

Same, I really thought he died the other year, I'm shocked to see he is still living, its like he's back from the dead.

Yeah, I'd always suspected that his days were numbered. Must be pretty spry though considering you don't normally hear about 80 year olds getting drunk and breaking into banks lol.

I met him at the Chiller Theatre convention in Parsipanny, NJ back in April 2015. Was a really nice guy but I felt REALLY BAD for him. It was his first signing convention appearance and he appeared very frail & I think had Alzheimer's or something. When he signed my autograph, he struggled & his assistant even had to tell him where to sign. After I took a pic with him, I asked him what was it like to work with Jeffrey Hunter. He said he liked him & then asked me if he were still alive. I told no & then he looked at his assistant AND ASKED HIS OWN AGE! He told him 84, Rip then looked at me, smiled, and said, "Well...at least I'm alright". So sad but a great experience meeting him! :)

It's just because his name is RIP. So that when people says Rip Torn, you thought it was RIP Torn, which means Mr.Torn is dead, or dead because he was torn by a tiger or something.
