Why didn't he have his parents in those Focker movies?

I know he had his late mother in one movie. Why weren't Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara used in Meet The Fockers? Nothing against Barbara Streisand or Dustin Hoffman.

Although his parents are great comedians, I think that Hoffman and Streisand were a perfect combo to play the parents.
