Thanks for wasting my time with your crap movie "Unsane" Steven.

What a B-movie

It really was surprisingly bad. I'm a fan of Claire Foy and thought the trailers looked interesting, but it ended up just being a weird, kind of disgusting and visually ugly film. A miss for sure.

He's the most overrated director of all time. So full of himself and none of his films have any substance. Just awful!

So you have shit taste

He's not bad but he is a bit listless and bland. He makes generally decent enough movies that are watchable but largely lacking in artistry or depth. He tells all his stories in a way that's competent but also very dry and passionless. He's good at what he sets out to do, which is to be a purely technical craftsman, but his lack of any real artistic vision ultimately holds him back from being one of the greats.

After Sex, Lies, some of us held him in great esteem. I followed his career in the 90s from King of the Hill to Kafka (a mediocre film from a script Soderbergh really liked) up to Oceans 11 which I found entertaining but empty. (I have never wanted to revisit it or see any of its sequels.) . I have really cared nothing for his career for 20 years. There is technical know-how in his films and sometimes good work with his actors but nothing he makes attracts me to seek it out.

I agree wholeheartedly. I wanted to be a fan, he has 3 good movies but he is vastly overrated.

Yes, his first Sex, Lies, Videotape was a good indy film, and one would expect big things from the director. For many they got them; for me I don't like his sensibility or lack thereof. From Traffic to Contagion I was underwhelmed, the latter being an interesting take on a pandemic which coincided with Covid. But I thought badly done and I can't stand Matt Demon.
Compare this to Linklater whose indy film Slacker promised a good future which he delivered on.
