Charisma to burn, should have been a hollywood legend

Smits brings charisma to every role, like very few in hollywood.
I'm surprised he didn't become a superstar of the big screen.
Very good emotive actor too, brings depth to each performance.

He's a legend in my house.

He's done at least a little theater (two Broadway credits; I don't what else). I'd love to see him in a movie. Guess I'll need to check out his recent and current projects.

Just make a movie that makes me care, one way or another. I'm open.

I saw him in a play in Chicago in 2013. He was outstanding!

He is a legend. He owns every scene he plays in. He is just great in SOA! And the Get Down. What an actor. I need to see more of his perfromances.

Det. Bobby Simone was smooth. Missed him when he left the show!

IKR?

I first remember Jimmy in a small but compelling part in "The Believers" where he plays a dispossessed (or possessed) Santeria practitioner who saw the Devil. Later on he would be on L.A. Law and NYPD Blue but never really got more deserving movie roles of any regard. His stint as background noise in George Mucas' failed prequels doesn't do him justice.

Actors who are known for television roles often have trouble branching out into the big screen. But regardless, Jimmy Smits had an excellent career -- his roles in L.A. Law and NYPD Blue have earned him a lot of approbation. Of all the main actors / actresses on L.A. Law, Smits had the best overall career.
